New Travel Restrictions

Uganda Ministry of Health Lifts Covid-19 Travel Restrictions The MoH has suspended the requirement for a 72-hour negative PCR test certificate for all incoming and outbound travellers fully vaccinated unless it is a requirement of the destination country or the carrier airline. No mandatory testing on arrival is required. New Travel Restrictions The new Ministry of Health directive (April 26, 2022) has the following travel restrictions lifted: Mandatory covid testing on arrival was suspended since February 16, 2022, and it still holds. All inbound and outbound travellers will be required to show proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination, except for travellers aged five years and below. The requirement for a negative PCR test done 72 hours pre-boarding for all incoming and outbound travellers is suspended for those fully vaccinated. There is an exception for outbound if it is a requirement of the destination country or the carrier airline. Travellers with partial or no vaccination will be required to present a negative PCR test done within 72 hours of travel, except travellers below five years. Fully vaccinated individuals will NOT be required to wear face masks when outdoors, provided there are NO crowds. Wearing a facemask when one is indoors or in closed spaces like public transport, shops, schools, and office where 2 meters distance cant be observed with other individuals, is required whether one is vaccinated or not. The Vulnerable or high-risk population, i.e. elderly aged 50 years and above and people living with co-morbidities irrespective of age, are advised to wear a facemask at all times whether they are vaccinated. Mandatory screening of visitors for Covid symptoms like temperature and colds will till continue to identify COVID carriers. You will be required to wear a facemask and keep a ten-meter distance when viewing the great apes in Uganda’s rainforests. All Uganda visas are processed online at No visa processing at entry points. You’ll need a six months valid passport and yellow fever vaccination certificate to be allowed entry. Find other details at Uganda Visa Requirements.

About Us

Janice tours is a boutique travel company that specializes in small, well-curated and customized trips for women.  Aside from the inherent adventure at hand, all Janice tours trips have an empowering and fierce feminine thread throughout, supporting women-owned businesses and celebrating women of influence and distinction in each market, be it a hotelier, a chef, an artisan, a conservationist or a village woman defying the local or global odds.

There’s also a storytelling component in the trips with women and a few good men speaking over dinner or drinks or perhaps in the bush of Uganda by the fire sharing their triumphs and tales. Guests too may be encouraged or simply inspired to share a tale or two. Last, is the community immersion–visiting villages, schools, co-ops, homes, and places of work and local importance to share experiences, meals and intimate moments with the local women.

Surrounded by spirited, like-minded women and set in stunning landscapes, Janice trips provide a mad mix of outdoor and adventure activity at various levels, to suit you, along with stays in top spots around the world that showcase an authentic ambiance, exceptional local artisans, art and architecture, as well as local food, beverages and an element of wellness throughout.

As meticulously designed as the trips are, there is wiggle room in each to make it your own individual experience as well. I did a lot of solo travel while working as a comedian. I had my time on stage at night to do my shows; but other times were free for me to fill, which I did with intense exploring. Additionally, I often traveled pre or post my tours on my own to extend the travel. As a travel writer since, half of my trips have been with groups and the other half have been solo.

I am bringing both sensibilities to the table. I recognize the need to be alone and to carve out time when in a group. I also know the need to feed off of a groovy group dynamic and perhaps to get your giggle on after going it alone. All of that has been carefully factored into the fabric and feel of each trip.

More importantly, there are beautifully scheduled moments that you can opt in or out of. You can kick back on the property, take a hike, a swim or enjoy the spa, on your own.  With the adventures, there is an equal allowance to dial it up or down based on your needs and interests. In some cases, the adventure is greatly based on the locale itself, be it the Galapagos, Antarctica or the African bush.  It’s an adventure just being there.

Also, bear in mind that if these group trips are not for you, we can curate trips especially for you and your own crew, family, friends, company, adventure posse and or any other group that you may want to travel with and or cater to. Any of the trips listed here on this site can be curated specifically for you and your group. If there is travel that you are interested in that is not listed on our trips, that too can be arranged for you. Hop onto our Customized Travel page for all of those details and to get started on the planning process.

Trips can be arranged for a mix of men and women, all men and or all-women, of course. The choice is yours. The same attention to detail that went into the planning of these trips will be applied to you and your crew.

W’ll see you on The Global Road!
