Uganda Ministry of Health Lifts Covid-19 Travel Restrictions The MoH has suspended the requirement for a 72-hour negative PCR test certificate for all incoming and outbound travellers fully vaccinated unless it is a requirement of the destination country or the carrier airline. No mandatory testing on arrival is required. New Travel Restrictions The new Ministry of Health directive (April 26, 2022) has the following travel restrictions lifted: Mandatory covid testing on arrival was suspended since February 16, 2022, and it still holds. All inbound and outbound travellers will be required to show proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination, except for travellers aged five years and below. The requirement for a negative PCR test done 72 hours pre-boarding for all incoming and outbound travellers is suspended for those fully vaccinated. There is an exception for outbound if it is a requirement of the destination country or the carrier airline. Travellers with partial or no vaccination will be required to present a negative PCR test done within 72 hours of travel, except travellers below five years. Fully vaccinated individuals will NOT be required to wear face masks when outdoors, provided there are NO crowds. Wearing a facemask when one is indoors or in closed spaces like public transport, shops, schools, and office where 2 meters distance cant be observed with other individuals, is required whether one is vaccinated or not. The Vulnerable or high-risk population, i.e. elderly aged 50 years and above and people living with co-morbidities irrespective of age, are advised to wear a facemask at all times whether they are vaccinated. Mandatory screening of visitors for Covid symptoms like temperature and colds will till continue to identify COVID carriers. You will be required to wear a facemask and keep a ten-meter distance when viewing the great apes in Uganda’s rainforests. All Uganda visas are processed online at visas.immigration.go.ug. Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Arrival.

  • You'll be collected from the airport.
  • Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.

You will be picked up by our guide at 7:00 am from Kampala and embark on your journey to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park covers an area of about 1978 sq km and its position provides a magnificent view of the Rift Valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world. It is well known to be a habitat of about 95 mammals along with 612 species of birds. You will briefly stop in Fort Portal for lunch. Afterward, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can do an optional evening game drive depending on your arrival time. This journey takes 5-6 hours.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Afternoon Launch Cruise Along the Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, you will catch up with the early risers as your driver takes you to track our closest cousins the chimpanzees. This is an absolutely amazing experience to have.

You will later return to your lodge for relaxation. After lunch, you will go for an amazing launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will have exciting and unforgettable memories. There is also a water sail which provides a magnificent platform for photography taking and across-the-board game viewing. As you retire from the boat cruise, you will drive back to the hotel for your dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Then Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will catch up with the early risers as your driver takes you for the morning game drive. It is an amazing experience to have with great chances of spotting other wild animals such as buffalo, Uganda kobs (Uganda national antelope), elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, waterbucks, warthogs among others. After that excellent drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and then embark on your journey to Rushaga near the famous Bwindi Impenetrable NP.

This park is most famous for the rare mountain gorillas. The drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside and hills which characterize so much of southwestern Uganda. Once you are in the forest park, it is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides a habitat for some 120 species of mammals and 348 species of birds. Later on, you'll go to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, along with your packed lunch, you will report to the park premises for registration by 8:00 am. Here you will be briefed by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You will then start to trek through the bumpy bushes in search of the amazing gorillas. There is as well a greater opportunity of seeing other species like birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, beautiful butterflies among others. The trek could take between 1-8 hours. It is really an exciting experience watching them protest or play with each other. You'll enjoy the special moment of being with these fabulous human-like primates. The time allowed to be with these gorillas in Uganda is 1 hour and every minute of the experience is worth the time you spent in search of them. As you retire from the forest, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi " the place of many little birds" for relaxation at the lodge. Lake Bunyonyi is popular for its green and lush terraced hills and many islands that you could admire all day.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kampala with Stopover at the Equator

Today is the last day of your trip! After your breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala as you view beautiful sceneries along the way. You will have lunch en route and thereafter proceed for another stopover at the equator for the water experiment and Kodak moments. More so if you happen to have missed it on the 1st day of your trip. You'll then proceed with the journey and your driver will drop you at your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe.
